TEDxLogan Circle Partners with DC Public Library to Empower Local Voices at "How to Craft Your TEDx Story" Workshop
WASHINGTON, D.C. — TEDxLogan Circle, an all-volunteer organization dedicated to amplifying local ideas, is proud to announce a community partnership with the DC Public Library to host a free storytelling workshop on January 29, 2026, at 5:30 PM at the West End Library.
“How to Craft Your TEDx Story” is designed to demystify the path to the TEDx stage and provide Washingtonians with the tools to turn their personal missions into “Ideas Worth Spreading.”
“At TEDxLogan Circle, we believe the ‘red rug’ belongs to the community,” says Monica Kang, Executive Director of TEDxLogan Circle. “By partnering with the DC Public Library, we are ensuring that world-class storytelling resources are accessible to every neighbor in the District. We aren’t just looking for professional speakers; we are looking for authentic voices with the power to move our city forward.”
The workshop serves as a key milestone ahead of the March 15, 2026 application deadline for the organization’s third annual event, scheduled for August 11, 2026, at the National Housing Center.
Attendees of the January 29th workshop will experience:
- Insider Guidance: An overview of the 2026 application process and what the selection committee looks for in a winning pitch by Speaker Coordinator Grady Lynn.
- Speaker Panel: A “behind-the-scenes” conversation with veteran speakers from the 2024 and 2025 cohorts, moderated by Head Coach Kyle Schnoebelen.
- Coaching: Rare 1:1 opportunities for attendees to receive real-time feedback on their ideas from TEDx coaches.
“Storytelling is a fundamental tool for advocacy and community building,” says Grady Lynn, Speaker Coordinator. “Whether someone is aiming for our August 2026 stage or simply wants to be a more effective advocate for their mission, this workshop provides the roadmap to get there.”
The event is free and open to the public, though registration is required due to limited seating at the West End Library. Interested participants can RSVP via Luma at https://luma.com/k8g3gx1e.

About TED
TED is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to discovering, debating and spreading ideas that spark conversation, deepen understanding and drive meaningful change. Our organization is devoted to curiosity, reason, wonder and the pursuit of knowledge — without an agenda. We welcome people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world and connection with others, and we invite everyone to engage with ideas and activate them in your community.
TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment and Design converged, but today it spans a multitude of worldwide communities and initiatives exploring everything from science and business to education, arts and global issues. In addition to the TED Talks curated from our annual conferences and published on TED.com, we produce original podcasts, short video series, animated educational lessons (TED-Ed) and TV programs that are translated into more than 100 languages and distributed via partnerships around the world. Each year, thousands of independently run TEDx events bring people together to share ideas and bridge divides in communities on every continent. Through The Audacious Project, TED has helped catalyze $6.6 billion in funding for projects that support bold solutions to the world’s most urgent challenges — working to make the world more beautiful, sustainable and just. In 2020, TED launched Countdown, an initiative to accelerate solutions to the climate crisis and mobilize a movement for a net-zero future, and in 2023 TED launched TED Democracy to spark a new kind of conversation focused on realistic pathways towards a more vibrant and equitable future.
